Letter from the road

Touring The Netherlands part 1
I'm on the road doing my very first real tour of The Netherlands. I did a shorter one a couple of years back but this time, thanks to my friend Barry McCabe, I'm here for 10 days.
HENGELO
So far it has been really great. I started out in Hengelo Friday night at Cafe de Cactus. A small but very nice place. I was joined but a couple a very good musicians for some jammin' after my gig was finished. The French blues star Nico Wayne Toussaint was also in town doing his very own gig and it was a real pleasure to play with him. A great harmonica player, singer and showman. Check him out!
LEERDAM
The day after it was time for the first festival in Leerdam. A really well organized festival with a strong line-up of great artists. I think I did quite well and I enjoyed my time on stage a lot. It was good meeting and do some good blues talking with other musicians as always. Enjoyed some fine music too. Big Bo was really good doing traditional acoustic blues and the band Cuban Heels that reminded me at times of the great The Red Devils was another highlight of the evening.
MEDEMBLIK
Yesterday I travelled to the beautiful coastal city Medemblik. Another small but VERY nice club that treated me very well. Started out pretty early and the audience really made me feel good and inspired. We could pack up the gear and hit the road and get back to the 'headquarters'in Utrecht in descent time. Nice for a change.
RADIO SHOW
Tonight I'm a special guest at the radio show "Blues Encounters of The Dirty Kind" hosted by Bluesy Willie. I guess we'll do some talking and I'm also performing a few songs live in the studio. Looking forward to that.

OK, that's all for now.

Slim
